The Sorrento Lounge Chair has the relaxed elegance of a chair made for long afternoons and unhurried rooms. A beautifully grained oak frame gives the piece warmth and natural character, while soft linen upholstery keeps the overall feel light, comfortable and inviting. The open timber arms and gently shaped frame bring a subtle coastal influence without feeling overtly nautical, making Sorrento particularly at home in the considered interiors of the Blackwood Boathouse collection. It is a chair with presence and character, designed to become more familiar and appealing with years of use.

Key Features

Oak timber frame — The exposed oak brings genuine warmth, strength and natural grain to the chair, giving every piece its own subtle character.
Natural linen upholstery — Linen provides a beautifully relaxed texture and breathable feel, complementing the warmth of the timber while lending the chair its understated coastal character.
Generous cushioned comfort — A substantial seat cushion and supportive back cushion soften the architectural timber frame, creating an inviting chair for reading, conversation and everyday relaxation.

Why This Piece Endures

Natural materials that age gracefully — Oak and linen develop character rather than simply looking worn, helping the Sorrento feel increasingly at home in a well-lived-in interior.
Distinctive without dominating the room — The open frame gives the chair visual lightness while the sculptural oak detailing provides enough presence to stand confidently on its own.
Easy to live with beyond coastal interiors — While designed for the Blackwood Boathouse collection, its combination of timber and neutral linen works equally well in country homes, classic villas, lodges and relaxed contemporary interiors.

Frequent Queries

Will the oak frame vary between chairs?
Yes. Oak is a natural material, so variations in grain, tone and markings are to be expected. These differences are part of the character of genuine timber and mean no two chairs will be completely identical.

How should I care for the linen upholstery?
Regularly vacuum the upholstery using a soft brush attachment and attend to spills promptly by gently blotting rather than rubbing. We recommend keeping the chair away from prolonged direct sunlight and having more significant marks professionally cleaned.

Is the Sorrento suitable for everyday use?
Yes. The oak frame provides a strong foundation, while the generously cushioned seat and back are designed for comfortable everyday lounging. As with all natural linen upholstery, some gentle creasing and softening with use is normal and contributes to its relaxed character.
