The Sika Originals Piano Rattan Armchair has the quiet character of a piece designed to be lived with for years. Handmade from natural Indonesian rattan, it combines a finely braided seat with a structured rattan-bar backrest and traditional wicker bindings, giving the chair both visual lightness and reassuring strength. Its simple Danish silhouette allows the craftsmanship and natural variation of the material to take the lead. Comfortable, durable and warmly textured, the Piano works beautifully around a dining table, in a conservatory or as an occasional armchair in relaxed plantation and coastal interiors.

Key Features

Handmade from natural Indonesian rattan — selected for its strength, flexibility and distinctive warmth, with each chair finished by skilled wicker makers.
Traditional woven construction — the braided seat, rattan-bar back and detailed bindings provide comfortable support while reinforcing the chair’s structure.
Designed for regular use — robust enough for residential and commercial environments, making it a practical choice for dining rooms, conservatories, hospitality settings and everyday living.

Why This Piece Endures

A restrained, established design — the simple proportions and traditional rattan detailing give the Piano an enduring quality that sits comfortably beyond passing furniture trends.
Easy to place with natural materials — particularly well suited to timber, linen, stone and aged finishes, making it a natural choice for plantation, coastal and heritage-inspired interiors.
Strength without visual heaviness — the open back and slender rattan frame keep the chair feeling light in a room while retaining the durability expected of quality rattan furniture.

Frequent Queries

Will the colour and finish vary between chairs?
Yes. Natural rattan varies subtly in tone, grain and texture, and handmade weaving can differ slightly from piece to piece. These variations are part of the character of genuine rattan furniture.

Is the Piano Armchair suitable for everyday use?
Yes. The Piano is designed for both residential and commercial settings, and the solid rattan frame and woven construction make it well suited to regular dining or occasional seating.

How should I care for natural rattan?
Dust regularly with a soft cloth or brush and clean gently with a lightly dampened cloth when required. Avoid soaking the rattan, strong chemical cleaners, excessive moisture and prolonged exposure to direct weather.
