The Newport Armchair captures the easy elegance of a well-lived-in coastal home, with its generous cushioning, softly tailored skirt and timeless striped linen-blend slipcover. Beneath the relaxed exterior is a solid timber frame with elastic webbing and sinuous spring support, giving the chair the substance and comfort needed for everyday living. High-density foam with a fibre overlay provides supportive seat comfort, while the loose fibre-filled back cushion creates a softer place to settle into. Designed as part of the Blackwood Boathouse collection, Newport has the enduring character of classic Hamptons furniture without feeling overly formal.

Frequent Queries

Is the Newport Armchair suitable for everyday use?
Yes. Its solid timber frame, spring and webbing support, and high-density foam seat are designed with regular use in mind. The fibre-filled cushioning provides a softer, relaxed feel and will benefit from occasional plumping and reshaping.

How should I care for the linen-blend slipcover?
Regular gentle vacuuming will help keep the 75% linen and 25% cotton fabric looking its best. Attend to spills promptly by blotting rather than rubbing, and follow the supplied care instructions when cleaning the removable cover rather than assuming it is machine washable.

Will the striped fabric and natural linen look exactly the same on every chair?
Minor variation in the weave and texture is natural with linen-rich fabrics and contributes to their relaxed character. Colour can also appear slightly different depending on surrounding furnishings, lighting and screen settings.
